A Splendid Alternative
 Poetry, Photographs and Americana

Like earlier collections, the title, "A Splendid Alternative," is taken from a poem within. This book contains 55 poems and matching photographs in various classic poetic formats, and is the fourth book Jack has published, the third in paperback.

Jack derives inspiration for poetry from his photographs.  While traveling to his present home in Wichita, Jack visited Greensburg, Kansas, a town that was devastated by an EF-5 tornado in 2007. His title poem springs from a photo from one of his visits there.  He explains about his hearing of and visiting Greensburg in his Preface.

Other pictures were taken in his homes and visits in Washington State, England, Nevada, the Dominican Republic, the Midwest and many places in between.
