You always hope to see whales when you visit Alaska, and there's nothing more iconic than a humpback's tail as it begins its deep dive, flipping it up as the whale descends. What stories of the deep could these gentle giants tell if we could ask? I was fortunate to get a few shots of this phenomenon while we were there and those photos have been great reminders of a fantastic week in the Alaskan bays.
