Basketball fans will understand the take on the name of this photo, but suffice it to say that this scrub jay never stopped coming around for a meal, even when the feeders were empty. Tucked into the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas in Northern California, Oregon House is a birding wonderland. I took advantage of that fact and the scrub jays, woodpeckers, towhees, titmice and hummingbirds there were all happy to show off. Of all of those, this jay had the most distinct personality.
