Obviously this blue jay is not playing baseball in Toronto. In fact, it's actually a scrub jay shot in Central California. I had hung a suet feeder about three feet from the ground, not far from a traditional seed feeder and a hummingbird feeder, and this jay was adamant about having its dessert. Several times he leapt from the ground to the suet, grabbed a bite and fell back to earth behind a picnic table. I was fortunate to have my camera ready for one of the jumps.
